Beauty Talks: Intersectional Beauty

Thursday 21 September
2:30 pm

Individuals demand to be recognized for all their multi-faceted, intersectional complexities as the
definition of inclusive beauty is radically reevaluated. Breaking through are intimately adaptive products
that speak to individuals’ specific needs determined by a multitude of factors (not just
their age, their ethnicity or their ability). This ultra-adaptability empowers all consumers to achieve their
optimized selves.

During this conference, the panel will investigate the new influences on Beauty – from the male makeup
boom to the rise of silver models – and highlight the brands that are contributing to this contemporary
vision of Beauty. Leïla will introduce the latest international insights and brand initiatives, and propose
new territories for these emerging categories. Conor will present the most recent learnings from the
Tribe Dynamics tool (measuring Digital Earned Media Value from social media), with a special focus on
the brands and influencers that will impact this trend in the future. This will be followed by a discussion with  Gloria Ryu, Chief Product Officer at Haus Labs by Lady Gaga, and Jamie Melbourne, Founder and Artistic Director of Apostle, a new inclusive and clean brand that change the taboo cultural perception surrounding men’s makeup.
