Sarah joined The Estée Lauder Companies in November of 2015 to establish the Scientific Communications function within R&D. In this role, she develops strategic corporate and branded credentialing strategies that increase the awareness and credibility of our science among professionals, influencers and consumers around the world. She helps design and execute Scientific Advisory Boards to protect our brands, our science and our core benefit areas. Sarah spearheads new partnerships with academic research and science media institutions, such as Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories, Nature Research, New Scientist and Scientific American. In 2021, Sarah established the Translational Media division in R&D with a mission of bringing industry leading, end to end science creative in-house.She brings new capability in scientific storytelling and leads the development of scientific illustrations & animations, benefit visualization and demo creation across brands. She has a passion for highlighting the achievements of women in STEM and is on the judging panel for the Nature Research Awards for Inspiring Women in Science.

Sarah has been instrumental in step-changing ELC’s scientific credentialing and communication programs for 5 star launches in Asia, reinforcing industry leading science and leveraging 3rd party partnerships to expand credibility & reach, such as the Estée Lauder Perfectionist Pro franchise with early success attributed to credentialing, successful programs on ANR eye products that have helped propel the brand to the #1 eye leader in APAC, and La Mer’s first ever scientific credentialing program on Regenerating Serum, leveraging the top Japanese expert in inflammation to endorse the brand.

Prior to joining ELC, Sarah was hired as an Analytical Chemist by Procter and Gamble and later established Scientific Communications for Global Color Cosmetics. She leveraged multiple national and international TV appearances as beauty science expert and has been frequently quoted in publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Women’s Wear Daily, Allure, Glamour, Marie Claire, and numerous online outlets. In 2012, she was one of 16 women named to Marie Claire’s “Women on Top” awards. Sarah has a BA in English Literature, a BS in Chemistry and received her Ph.D. in BioAnalyticalChemistry, for which she studied biological systems at the nanometer scale with near-field optics techniques.
